We are looking to recruit an engineering or physics graduate who wishes to train as a patent attorney based in our Cambridge office. The position provides the opportunity to work with clients, including world-leading companies, in the fields of mechanical, medical and automotive engineering, electronics, physics and control systems.

Candidates will need to demonstrate not only a high level of technical skill but also an ability to understand our clients’ business needs, in order to be able to provide high quality advice that is jargon-free and down-to-earth.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of an upper second class engineering or physics degree with excellent English language skills. We are seeking someone that has an ability to grasp new concepts quickly and who can proactively contribute towards the development of the firm.

Our Cambridge office is made up of a relaxed but committed team of attorneys covering the full range of patent and trade mark disciplines. The office is located in a modern, air-conditioned building with easy access to both the centre of Cambridge and surrounding villages.

The firm is recognised for investing heavily in trainees to ensure the best possible opportunity of becoming a qualified attorney. Not only do we have a comprehensive in-house development programme comprising seminars, study groups and mentoring; we also ensure our trainees get the hands on experience of working on a wide variety of actual cases. We support all trainees to attend appropriate courses organised by the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys as well as the Certificate in Intellectual Property Law at Queen Mary, University of London. In addition, the successful candidate will be part of a firm-wide group of trainees, so you can be sure of plenty of peer support.
