Requirements, Skills & Qualifications:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team of professionals in our rapidly growing Guildford office for a candidate who wishes to train towards sitting the qualifying exams to become a Chartered & European Patent Attorney.

We are looking for candidates with an excellent academic background including a good degree in a Biotechnology-related discipline. A thorough understanding of molecular biology is a must, and a background or experience in immunology would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Comprehensive training is given both on the job and through examination.  This is an ideal position for someone who does not want to go into research or industry, but would like to use their degree, and apply it to new bioscience technologies, such as genome editing, immuno/antibody engineering and gene therapies etc.

The role will involve significant amounts of direct contact with clients, patent drafting and prosecution. There will also be plenty of opportunities to handle contentious matters. The ideal candidate will therefore have excellent organisation, communication and problem solving skills.

There are excellent prospects for the right person as our business expands. The firm offers outstanding development opportunities, including client secondments, as well as a progressive but friendly environment.
