Deadline

We have a position for a new trainee trade mark attorney in our trade marks team. This team works for a diverse range of clients from individuals and SMEs through to large multinational corporations with global product ranges. The work covers a broad range of sectors including entertainment, fashion, telecommunications, electronics, publishing, and FMCG, to name but a few.

You will receive comprehensive and structured on-the-job training over several years, and will attend external courses, to qualify as a UK and European Trade Mark Attorney. Our team is heavily involved in the qualification system and some are examiners.

Candidates require good analytical skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to reason logically, both orally/in writing. Excellent written English is an essential requirement for the job. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work individually to strict deadlines or as part of a team. Those with an open, friendly nature will do well.
You should have/expect to have a good degree (minimum 2.1). The degree subject is not crucial, although our previous trade mark recruits include those with law degrees/science degrees. You will be expected to show a commitment to undertaking further study for the professional exams. Additional language skills are useful but not essential. A further legal qualification would be a bonus.
