You will have a minimum of a 2:1 degree with excellent English language skills and the ability to grasp new concepts. You should also feel confident communicating effectively at all levels.

Our Trade Mark team is highly experienced and is consistently ranked amongst the top ten UK firms for UK and European trade mark filings. Our clients in the UK cover sectors such as luxury fashion, insurance and defence, and internationally we work directly with a number of US corporations in sectors ranging from software to medical devices. We aim to work closely and strategically with all our clients to build lasting, trusted relationships. We are looking for graduates who are motivated to grow and develop with us.

We give our trainees real responsibility early on, and you will be making a significant contribution to client work within the first year. Qualification as a Trade Mark Attorney involves examinations over the course of two years with on the job training. Withers & Rogers provides a comprehensive package of support for trainees. We will support and encourage you to attend courses, lectures and tutorials. The main focus of our training is exposure to a wide variety of work on cases under the supervision of a qualified Trade Mark Attorney. All of our attorneys devote considerable time to developing trainees as this is the best way for you to develop the skills you need to pass the examinations, and also for you to absorb the culture and working practices that have contributed to the success of our firm.

What are we looking for?

A strong academic record (3 A-Levels or equivalent at A/B and a minimum 2:1 degree), coupled with enthusiasm and an ability to learn are the key attributes.  Excellent written and spoken English is essential.  Trade Mark Attorneys do not require any specific degree, although a Law, Modern Languages or English degree would be of most benefit.
