Alistair Hindle Associates has a vacancy for a trainee patent attorney to start in summer/autumn 2015. We are based in the historic and vibrant city of Edinburgh, a two hour drive from the Scottish Highlands.
We are a relatively young and dynamic firm with a growing reputation for both technical and legal excellence. We offer a friendly working environment and an interesting case load dealing predominantly with direct clients, ranging from high-technology start-up companies to multinational corporations. Long-term prospects for the right candidate are excellent.
For this position, we are looking for applicants with an honours or a masters degree in chemistry (minimum 2.1) and a PhD or industrial R&D experience. Candidates should have strong analytical and communication skills, keen attention to detail and the ability to pick up complex technical ideas quickly.
Trainees are expected to qualify as UK and European patent attorneys and training will be provided. Training is predominantly in-house, but attendance at external courses is also encouraged and will be paid for by the firm.
