Trainee Patent Attorney – Materials/Chemistry
We have an exciting opportunity for a high-calibre graduate with a background in materials science and/or chemistry to join our Derby office and train as a patent attorney.
The role will involve working with a variety of inventions in the fields of materials science and chemistry, alongside mechanical and, potentially, computational inventions. The chemistry work is likely to relate predominantly to materials rather than pharmaceutical chemistry/biochemistry.
We act for a diverse range of clients, from multinational corporations to national and local companies, as well as universities. We are committed to providing the highest quality intellectual property support and advice to these clients to enable them to achieve their aims. No two days are the same. On one day you might be advocating for the grant of a European patent at oral proceedings before the European Patent Office for a multinational client. On the next day you could be meeting a local client at their premises in preparation for writing a new patent specification.
