The Role:
We are looking for a Renewals Assistant to join our Renewals Team and support the Trademark group. You would be part of a fantastic team based across our Glasgow, London and Leeds offices with a mix of new colleagues and experienced colleagues to learn from and develop your career. Murgitroyd’s IP Renewals Team manages the payment of over 30,000 cases due for renewal in any one year and monitors almost 100,000 maintenance fees in total. We have a worldwide client base handled by a team who are based in Glasgow, London and Leeds.
Some of the main tasks and responsibilities associated with this role in the Trademark group could include:
- Identifying cases to be renewed
- Monitoring deadlines and sending reminders
- Calculating costs and investigating requirements, both legal and client specific
- Corresponding with clients and establishing ongoing use of the Trademark
- Preparing formality documents for execution by the client
- Attending to the renewals in direct jurisdictions using various payment vehicles
- Instructing and communicating with local associates for indirect jurisdictions
- Advising and invoicing clients
- Updating our case records, collating evidence/certificates and reporting to the client
- Dealing with administrative tasks
