Our role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our thriving Chemistry & Life Sciences Group for a Trainee Patent Attorney.

We are keen to hear from candidates with a specific chemistry or related background, medical technology, biology, biotechnology or pharmacology. We are looking for a talented trainee who has already commenced their journey towards qualification perhaps in private practice or in industry; someone who is looking to take the next step in their career with a new firm.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, hard working and hold a genuine interest in patents.  The successful candidate will be dedicated to delivering the highest standard of service to our impressive client base and will be willing to develop new business.  Within a relatively small team based in Farnham, you will gain broad experience, building your knowledge and developing your career; you will enjoy early responsibility and regular client contact.

Irrespective of your current experience, we will provide you all the necessary training to enable you to qualify as a UK Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney.

About you

You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to work effectively with our national and international client base; you will have strong time management and organisational skills; and will be able to demonstrate dedication to providing excellence to our clients. You will be a good listener and able to take on board and act on feedback.

Due to the high academic requirements for this opportunity, only graduates with a minimum 2:1 STEM degree with honours will be considered.  Ideally, we are looking for candidates who have completed the foundation level towards the UK patent attorney qualifications.
