Patent Records and Formalities Officer (EP Grant) – Patent Records & Formalities, London

​An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Firm’s thriving business support team for a Patent Records & Formalities Officer (EP Grant).

​This is an excellent prospect for an enthusiastic candidate looking to continue their career in intellectual property.

Key responsibilities:

The purpose of the role is to work with the Firm’s European Grant team (a sub-team within the Firm’s Records & Formalities function), providing a full, timely and accurate records and case management service to our partners and fee earners.

​The role will entail a full range of activities including:

  • ​Management of team prompts and deadlines
  • Dealing with incoming post or other mail items, updating records system
  • Updating records system to reflect filings and outgoing correspondence
  • EPO filings: Responses to 71(3) communications, Unitary Patent requests
  • Corresponding directly with clients and foreign attorneys
  • Billing
  • Dealing with ad hoc/miscellaneous requests
  • Covering for colleagues

About you:

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual who already holds EP Grant experience (ideally 2+ years) within the Patent Records & Formalities profession. The right candidate will have a strong eye for detail; they will have excellent organisational skills, be able to handle high volumes of work whilst managing deadlines, along with the capability to work in a team. The candidate will also have strong communication and interpersonal skills to complete work effectively and efficiently within the team.

​The right candidate will have worked with Inprotech and will be proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook. German and/or French language skills are an advantage but not essential.

​The CIPA patent administrator’s qualification is desirable but not essential. ​Appropriate training will be provided.
