The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Patent Administrator to join our dynamic Patent Services team.

The role is varied and covers general patent formalities from filing to grant, however, it primarily focuses on handling the grand and validation process. Duties will include: recording new cases electronically; creating validation instruction letters and sending work to individual foreign agents/validation service providers; working directly with clients to obtain signed documentation; monitoring/updating cases/daily critical reminders; reporting and billing validations as well as documenting incoming post and various other tasks on an ad hoc or regular basis.

Person Specification

Candidates should have at least 2 years experience of working in a busy patent formalities/grant department and will have passed the CIPA course. Knowledge of working with Inprotech would be an advantage as would experience of handling validations and the unitary patent process. This role is ideal for someone who loves working in a varied role with an energetic and friendly team, as well as being competent at working autonomously.

Key qualities for this role include exceptional organisation and communication skills, energy and enthusiasm, problem solving skills, excellent written English and, above all else, a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
