The successful candidate will play a crucial role in advising a diverse client portfolio on a variety of complex biotechnological matters. This position involves direct client engagement, patent drafting, prosecution, and potentially contentious proceedings, providing a comprehensive and challenging experience in the field of biotechnology patent law.

Key Responsibilities:

Drafting and prosecuting patent applications with a focus on biotechnological inventions.

Advising clients on patent strategy and portfolio management in the UK and internationally.

Conducting freedom-to-operate analyses and providing opinions on patentability, infringement, and validity issues.

Engaging in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office (EPO) and other jurisdictions.

Collaborating with a team of experienced attorneys and professionals to deliver exceptional service to clients.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Part or fully qualified Patent Attorney with a strong foundation in biotechnology or a related field.

A degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related discipline.

Demonstrable experience in biotech patent prosecution, ideally within a reputable law/IP firm or in-house at a biotechnological corporation.

Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to client service.
