Responsibilities:

• Draft and negotiate IP-related agreements, including licenses, assignments, joint ventures, and collaborations
• Conduct due diligence investigations to assess the validity, scope, and enforceability of IP rights in connection with transactions
• Advise clients on IP-related legal and business issues, including patentability, freedom-to-operate, infringement, and valuation
• Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals in cross-functional teams to support clients’ IP strategies and goals
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients by providing high-quality, responsive, and proactive legal services
• Stay up-to-date on legal and industry developments in IP law and share knowledge with colleagues and clients
• Prepare legal documents, such as agreements, opinion letters, and memoranda, in a clear and concise manner
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and third-party experts in a professional and effective manner to advance clients’ interests
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and exceed clients’ expectations
• Participate in marketing and business development activities to expand the firm’s IP transactions practice

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of relevant experience in intellectual property law, preferably in transactions or licensing
• Strong academic credentials, including excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
• Technical or scientific background in a relevant field (engineering, life sciences) is preferred
• Knowledge of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets
• Familiarity with contract law and drafting, negotiating, and interpreting legal agreements
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in legal research and writing, and proficiency in using relevant legal databases and software
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and client service mindset
• Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and excellence in the practice of law
