A new role working in one of EIP’s new divisions focusing on clients in the medical device and healthcare sectors.

Following the appointment of Gareth Probert in 2020, we are looking for a new part-to-fully qualified patent attorney for our new and growing division focused on the medical device and healthcare sectors.

Leveraging existing direct client experience and significant client care skills, we are breaking into new markets with new clients. Typically, these clients are innovation-rich, medical device and healthcare manufacturers. We are well placed to take advantage of this push for progress with our combined expertise in engineering, chemistry and biotechnology allowing us to deliver flexible and class-leading IP solutions to clients in this area.

The caseload will be a blend of drafting & prosecution and include a focus on oppositions. As such, this role represents a great opportunity for a part-qualified attorney to cut their teeth in opposition work whilst being guided and mentored by a leading partner in this area of work.

We now seek to appoint a part-to-fully qualified patent attorney with experience in chemistry, materials, biomaterials or a related field. Mechanical experience will be essential with any experience in healthcare and medical device fields also helpful. You will probably have passed the QMU or equivalent and may have some final papers under your belt as well. We will also consider recently qualified attorneys for this position. Effective communication skills, an aptitude for problem-solving and the ability to think on your feet are essential skills.

We would like to appoint someone in London but will consider other locations as well as those wishing to work remotely.
