Summer Internship sponsored by Cummins

Cleveland Scott York, in conjunction with Cummins will again provide a two weeks’ internship for an individual interested in a career in patent law and enthusiastic about Cummins’ products and services. The intern will gain considerable insight into the various activities involved in the creation and enforcement of a valuable patent portfolio, the reason for freedom to operate initiatives, and also the drafting and negotiating of IP agreements, from the perspective of both a law firm and an inhouse IP department.

Criteria

  • Working towards or recently achieved a relevant STEM subject degree, ideally electrical or mechanical engineering, applied physics or similar.
  • A demonstrable interest in engineering, and the technologies relevant to Cummins.
  • Ideally someone who is considering a career as a Patent Attorney or technically qualified IP Lawyer.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Ability to digest and effectively articulate information.
  • Excellent written communication skills.

Location – The London offices of Cummins and CSY with the possibility of other site visits.

Duration – Two weeks commencing on a date yet to be determined, but most likely towards the end of the summer holidays.
