An aspiring IP solicitor with a passion for working in the creative industry. With my undergraduate degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation BSc (First-class Hons), paired with my Postgraduate Diploma in Law, I find my self fully equipped with base skills and knowledge, as well as commercial awareness required of a commercial solicitor.
Given my current degree, LLM (with SQE1 preparation), I have had the opportunity to enhance those skills further to the standard of a qualified solicitor of England and Wales. With this masters degree, I had the opportunity to delve into IP and New technologies, as well as Copyright and Allied rights as optional modules in an attempt to start specialising in the field I find most interesting.
As I progress through the taught elements of my master’s degree, which will be finalised this December 2026, I am able to take up part-time work till then. However, I am due to sit the SQE1 this January 2027, and as part of my degree have been given the opportunity to take part in a year long work placement scheme starting January 2027.
In addition to my education, I have legal internship experience in the UAE where I was exposed to M&A transactions as well as legal drafting of commercial service contracts. Furthermore, I have also had to work upon my legal research skills as well as commercial awareness attributes while working at a LPO firm.
While my other work experience have not particularly involved legal tasks, I have gained skills such as client communication, organisation, and time management, and have consistently worked on improving said skills throughout my academic journey.
Alongside my Master’s degree, I have participated in pro bono cases provided through Brunel Legal Clinic and also in mock trials in association with the Service Prosecuting Authority, where I had the role of a cross-examiner in chief.
As mentioned before, my attraction to the creative industry stems from my interest in music, gaming and films. Being able to say that my involvement has some what assisted in protecting and maintaining those creative and artistic works is a goal I currently work towards.
