Gateley IP is a dedicated patent and trade mark attorney group within Gateley, a leading professional services business employing around 1,500 people at offices around the UK.
Formed of three established IP practices, Adamson Jones, Groom Wilkes & Wright and Symbiosis IP, Gateley IP combines those specialist teams into a group with multidisciplinary capability, so clients benefit from both specialist expertise and strategic scale.
Adamson Jones was founded in 2000 as a commercially-focused patent and trade mark attorney practice to assist UK businesses ranging in size from technology-focused start-ups to established SMEs and multinational corporations.
Groom Wilkes & Wright (GWW) was founded in 2004 as a specialist intellectual property practice dedicated to trade mark and design law, created to provide focused, high-quality advice to brand-owning businesses.
Symbiosis IP was founded in 2008 to provide highly-specialised patent attorney support to the life sciences and chemical sectors, with a focus on providing services to universities, spinouts and early-stage businesses navigating complex innovation journeys.
Gateley IP represents companies across a range of sectors, from high-growth start-ups and universities, through established manufacturers and retailers, to some of the biggest companies in the world. We also have technology and sector specialist teams, which provide services bespoke to the needs of companies in those sectors.
As part of Gateley, we offer clients access to a wide and extensive range of additional legal and professional services to support businesses at key stages of their business life cycle, with the scale to handle increasingly complex and sophisticated work as businesses grow and evolve. Our attorneys are therefore able to work closely with other professionals within the business, such as solicitors and other advisers, in a wide range of areas including corporate transactions, IP litigation, commercial agreements and disputes.
We are committed to excellence in our work. We therefore look for high calibre individuals with a record of academic achievement, who have the potential to develop the commercial knowledge and legal skills that set our attorneys apart. Our preference is to train new entrants to the profession and to instil our values in them, with tailored training programmes and individual career support being provided. Long-term prospects for those who join our firm are therefore excellent.
