We’re searching for an electronic engineer or physicist to join our Electronics Team as a Trainee Patent Attorney

ROLE
Our Glasgow Office based Electronics Team provides front line IP advice to a local, regional and global client base. We are looking to recruit a graduate electronics engineer or physicist to join our team. You will be given training and the opportunity to work on challenging and exciting portfolios, where you will be encouraged to not only develop your experience and skills, but to bring your own ideas to the table. The technology which we handle includes semiconductor technology, optical devices, image processing, software, telecommunications, data processing and networks and much more.

Murgitroyd offers a modern, flexible approach to work and has a structured approach to training and development. You will join our tailored graduate training programme, to enable you to learn the job of a patent attorney and to take the professional examinations leading to qualification as a UK and European Patent Attorney.

SKILLS REQUIRED
The ideal candidate will have a degree in electrical engineering, physics or physical sciences, optionally with a post-graduate qualification, and an ambition to develop a professional career as a patent attorney.

Additionally, candidates should have:
• Good communication skills
• The ability to analyse and solve problems
• Proactive thinking and a ‘can do’ attitude
• A high standard of written English

If you have foreign language skills, then so much the better, though this is not a prerequisite.
