For September 2015 we are looking for five to six patent trainees. We are recruiting from all scientific and engineering disciplines and are particularly keen to hear from engineers and candidates with electronics and electrical backgrounds.
We would generally expect applicants to have obtained (or expect to attain) a minimum of a 2:1 degree in one of the following disciplines:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biochemistry/Genetics
- Mechanical engineering
- Electronic engineering/Computer science
- Other scientific degrees
What you can expect from the training:
Reddie & Grose has a good reputation for training its assistants and the majority of the partners trained with the firm. Our most recent intake of trainees took part in a two-week intensive training induction covering the basics of patent law and other essential background for the start of their career.
The trainees will be supported through the 10-week course leading to the Certficate in Intellectual Property Law (currently provided by Queen Mary, University of London).
Trainees are encouraged to take advantage of courses and lectures provided by the professional institutes, which supplement the thorough practical training given in the offices under the supervision of one of the partners. Trainees are also given the opportunity to attend German and French language classes, held in the London office.
Application Process:
We will consider applications at any time of the year but we generally take on new assistants in September/October of each year. Our recruitment process starts in September of the current year when we review our needs for the following year. Priority will be given to applicants who have completed their studies or are in the final year of undergraduate or post-graduate studies at university.
