We are looking for 4-6 new patent attorney trainees across all science disciplines to work towards qualification as a UK and European patent attorney. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background in physics or electronic engineering. New trainees will sit with a qualified patent attorney and assist them with all parts of their work, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications and advising clients about various aspects of intellectual property law. The day-to-day training is supplemented with both in-house and external tutorials which help trainees in their preparations for the professional qualifying exams.
Good candidates will have a broad-based interest in science as well as specific knowledge in their particular degree field. Excellent communication skills, especially in writing, are vital. Good people skills are also valuable as is general commercial sense. [No prior knowledge of patent law is required.]
