Trainee Patent Attorney required for Littlehampton-based firm for an immediate start in view of our increased caseload of mechanical subject matter. Therefore, a mechanical or engineering degree is preferred, but a degree in physics, electronics or computing would also be considered.
The duties associated with the job role will principally consist of (but are not limited to):
- Dealing with clients, associates and suppliers of the company in providing patent and /or trade mark attorney services.
- Liaising with and reporting to company managers.
Training and support will be provided as required with the aim of achieving qualification as a UK patent attorney and European Patent Attorney. Training in other areas e.g. trade marks and designs can be considered at the request of the successful candidate.
You will be expected to demonstrate good interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, strong oral and written communication and an ability to work to tight deadlines.
We are only able to consider applicants who are eligible to work in the UK. It would be a preference for the candidate to hold a full UK driving licence.
The hours are Monday – Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. The successful candidate will be required to spend some days working from home in view of the current COVID restrictions; for this the company will provide any equipment required. Post COVID the job will be located in the Littlehampton premises. Salary will be in line with qualifications and industry norms.
