Are you an experienced paralegal struggling to find the next step in your career? Perhaps you’ve progressed as far as you can in the available infrastructure at your current firm, or maybe you’re just in need of a refresh? Our client has been investing heavily in their support services over recent years and as a result has grown significantly, boasting an impressive team of experienced paralegals and formalities experts across offices in the UK and Europe. This growth has encouraged a need for the firm to implement a slight restructure and is now in need of an experienced leader to help manage the team based in the South of the UK.

This really is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys the more strategic side of the paralegal role, coupled with the chance to become involved in integral business wide initiatives and decision making.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a team of c. 20 paralegals and supporting their ongoing development and performance.
  • Handling the recruitment of new starters and ensuring a smooth integration into the existing team environment
  • Coordinating on various projects with other team leads within the business, for example in areas such as training, HR and, business processes.
  • Acting as the key point of contact between Partners, attorneys, and the paralegal team.
  • Implementing new inhouse policies and procedures alongside other managers within the business.
  • Working with the paralegal team and senior management on identifying potential areas for improvement and development.
  • Being involved in business development and marketing activities where appropriate.

Ideal candidates will have experience working in a leadership and change management role in a legal (or similar) setting. You do not necessarily need to have prior experience working in Intellectual Property, however it is hoped you are a well-qualified paralegal with confidence implementing change whilst leading and managing a team. The role is in London, although you could potentially be based out of one of the firm’s other southern bases, and a hybrid 50/50 working model is in place – with two days in the office required one week and three the next.
