Applications for trainee positions commencing in Autumn 2022 will run from September 2021 to January 2022.

Every year we accept applications for Trainee Patent Attorney / Technical Assistant positions from candidates with a background in Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or Physics.

All the necessary training will be provided to lead to full qualification as a UK Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney. Working within Maucher Jenkins‘ well established Patents team at our London or Surrey (Farnham) office, as a Trainee or “Technical Assistant”, all necessary training will be provided to lead to full qualification as a UK Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney. You will be given early responsibility within Maucher Jenkins’ encouraging and supportive work environment, you will work with interesting and experienced Partners and colleagues, providing the highest quality of service to our impressive client base.

The right candidate will be a self-starter who likes working as part of a team. You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to work effectively with our national and international client base; you will have strong time management and organisational skills; and will be able to demonstrate dedication to providing excellence to our clients.

Due to the high academic requirements for this opportunity, only graduates with a minimum 2:1 degree with honours will be considered. A PhD, research and/or experience in industry would be an advantage, however this is not essential. We are also keen to hear from candidates with Chinese or German language skills.
