My client is seeking an experienced Trade Mark Specialist to join its dynamic team. This critical role supports the Trade Mark Coordinator in implementing policies into the team itself. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in trade mark administration, an eye for detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, filing, and management of trade mark applications domestically and internationally
  • Monitor trade mark deadlines and ensure timely responses to registry actions and renewals
  • Conduct and report on trade mark searches and watch notices, providing preliminary advice on registrability and infringement risks
  • Maintain accurate records of trade mark portfolios in the database, ensuring up-to-date client and case information
  • Liaise with clients, trade mark offices, and foreign associates to facilitate communications and document exchange
  • Assisting and training new members of staff
  • Proactively identifying where firm wide practices and procedural guidelines are not followed and work with the relevant individuals/teams to resolve
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines and under pressure and effective at delegation of tasks within teams if required

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in trade mark support within a law firm or corporate environment
  • Familiarity with trade mark law, filing procedures, and databases
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on clear and professional client communication
  • Proficiency in IP management software and MS Office
  • A team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently
  • A legal or paralegal qualification is preferred but not essential
