Role Overview:

As the IP Manager, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding and maximising the value of our client’s Patent portfolio. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of IP management, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies that align with our client’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the company’s Patent portfolio, including identifying, assessing, and protecting valuable intellectual property assets
  • Handle litigation on intellectual property matters, including coordination with local outside counsels and in-house regional teams, as well as follow-up on legal proceedings, intellectual property disputes and litigation
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that IP rights are properly secured, maintained, and enforced
  • Draft, review, and negotiate intellectual property-related agreements, including, but not limited to, intellectual property assignments, affidavits, collaboration, settlement agreements, co-existence agreements, and undertakings
  • Conduct IP due diligence for potential partnerships, acquisitions, and licensing agreements
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and regulatory developments related to IP
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on IP-related matters to promote awareness and compliance

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant professional experience in a law firm and/or in-house setting, with experience in the Plant breeders rights, life science, and/or biotechnology industry highly preferred
  • Knowledge of intellectual property law and the protection of intellectual property and proprietary rights
  • Qualified candidates must be comfortable operating in an international setting
  • Ability to think strategically, problem solve creatively and quickly, and be a savvy partner to clients (both internal and external) to help them navigate legal risk to achieve business objectives
  • -Self-motivated and highly productive with the ability to multi-task
  •  Quick learner who can adapt to a fast-paced, high-growth environment and can navigate complex cross-functional situations
  •  Able to work independently and plan ahead
