Location: London – Or elsewhere in the UK for an experienced individual would be considered, with infrequent travel to London office needed.

This leading European firm of IP professionals has an immediate vacancy for a qualified patent attorney with a background in organic chemistry/pharmaceuticals. This is your chance to work in one of the leading teams in Europe while providing professional services to clients of the firm – national and international clients across a wide range of industries and spanning many sectors.

Key Tasks:

  • Independent management of case portfolios.
  • Drafting and filing of UK, European and International patent applications.
  • Prosecution of UK, European and International patent applications.
  • Advising on and prosecuting oppositions and appeals before the European Patent Office.
  • Advising clients on all issues relating to IP law.
  • Training of Junior Staff.

Requirements

You must be either a qualified UK Chartered Patent Attorney and/or a qualified European Patent Attorney.

Ideally your experience will be either newly-qualified up to around 5 years of post-qualification experience.

You should have in-depth depth knowledge of and demonstrable experience with organic chemistry and pharmaceuticals (ideally PhD level).

The ability to advise clients on how to protect their works considering their individual specific needs and requirements.

A confident and assertive attitude combined with being commercially astute to build on and develop strong working relationships with both colleagues and clients.
