What will you be doing?
Are you looking for an intellectually challenging, purposeful and rewarding career, with the opportunity to use your scientific and technical skills outside of traditional career paths?
Our fully paid summer internship programme will take place in summer 2021, providing aspiring patent attorneys with a real insight into the profession, and working life at Carpmaels.
We will provide you with seminars, case studies, work shadowing and the opportunity to get involved with client meetings and live cases. You will also get to experience our social side, through meeting and getting to know a variety of people across the firm.
Given the current Covid-19 pandemic, we will confirm the exact date and format nearer the time. Typically, the programme takes place in June/July, and will be one to two weeks in duration. In addition to the internship being a paid opportunity, we offer support for travel/accommodation expenses, should the programme take place in our central London office rather than in a virtual format.
What are we looking for?

Preference is given to candidates who are looking to begin a full-time graduate role in autumn 2022, and we welcome applications from individuals who have undertaken further study, including PhDs.
You will be working towards, or have obtained, an excellent first degree (minimum 2:1 or equivalent) complemented by strong A Levels (typically 3 at grade A or equivalent) and a passion for science and technology. With an excellent command of both written and spoken English and a meticulous eye for detail, you enjoy analysing and conceptualising complex matters, with an enthusiasm and aptitude for problem solving.
